But the striker, who scored a stunning treble to send Rovers to Wembley in a superb 5-1 2nd-leg success over Southend on Friday, reckons the Whites will be slight favourites ahead of the final.

He said: "It's a funny one. They'll have obviously watched the game and maybe think they are not the favourites and we've played them twice and played really well.

"But Leeds, regarding the size of the club and support, will maybe just be favourites. I thought they did really well at Carlisle.

"I watched the first game and I thought Carlisle were really good and I fancied them to go through.

"But Leeds stepped it up a gear. And that was something we were talking about what we had to do.

"Leeds deserved to go through. It's weird, everyone will be wanting Leeds to get promoted, but if Doncaster come in and nick it in the end, it could be a good story."

He added: "It will be a good game and a good occasion for Yorkshire and the Doncaster fans will want to go there and get a victory.

"We've done well in our two performances against Leeds and were unlucky to get beat here (at the Keepmoat). "We had a lot of good chances, their goalkeeper did well and they scored a good free-kick.

"While we went to Elland Road and played really well and it should be a very good final.

"But form goes out of the window and it will be a massive occasion and it will all be who performs the best on the day.

"I think maybe we'll fill Wembley and it will be good that Doncaster will be there, a smaller club if you like, a smaller support, but the fans will be singing their hearts out.

"Hopefully we can go and do them proud."
