Wise said: "He has a lot of pace and good ability. We like him so will bring him in to increase competition. There are three or four players we want to bring in and I mean go and buy them for the long term."
Wise will be extra keen to make signings in early January with vice-captain Jonathon Douglas out for three months with a knee injury and Leicester loanee striker Mark De Vries out for a month with a groin injury.
Centre back Rui Marques will also miss six games in the new year as he has been called up for Angola's squad for the African Cup of Nations.
