Ridsdale says in The Sun: "I hope it is a day when people will remember the good times. People tend to have very short memories of what good times we had and forget them when criticising me.
"However much people criticise, the fact is we put together a team that could compete with the best. No matter what people say, those memories cannot be taken away.”
Meanwhile, Kevin Blackwell has told fans to forget Ridsdale.
Blackwell added: "We don’t need any distractions from what we are trying to do here. It doesn’t matter who is coming to Elland Road and who isn't."
