Reid: Roy Of The Rovers Stuff

Speaking in tonight's Yorkshire Evening Post Reid said: "I've been in football a long time and nothing surprises me. Whatever you say, that's entertainment.

"We were chasing the game. We've conceded more goals and too many silly free-kicks, which is a bit of a concern, but we showed great character to come back.

"Hartey has got us back in it, and then it's Roy of the Rovers stuff from Paul going up in the last minute.

"It was a great header from a great cross and that's what we are in this business for. I was disappointed we couldn't break them down in extra time, but we kept going and that was great.

"We are fortunate to go through, because shoot-outs are nerve wracking, but those are the rules and we are in the hat for the next round - that's the most important thing.

"We tried a few things and I was pleased. It would have been difficult had we been knocked out, but I can't praise the players enough for the character they showed.

"There were a lot of plusses out there and, although there's still a few things I'm not happy with, I'll draw on the positives and look forward to the next round."

The third round draw takes place this Saturday lunchtime.
