Cardiff City have told central defender Darren Purse that he can go on a free transfer to either Charlton or Leeds.
Former Bluebirds skipper Purse, 31, is out of contract in June.He said: "At my age you've got to be playing on a regular basis. I won't say any more at this stage."
A Cardiff source reported: "Darren will be away in the January window.
