Rovers want to tie-up Davies, 19, on a new contract at Prenton Park but are still awaiting a response and admit the ball is firmly in his court.

"Clubs have much less power than they used to, even with younger players, and there is only so much we can do," boss Ronnie Moore told Tranmere's official website.

Davies has made over 50 appearances after coming through Rovers' youth scheme.
