Norris, 34 later this month, has had his contract terminated leaving him free to sign for another club outside of the transfer window.
Norris made 36 appearances for the Whites, scoring four goals, but featured just once this season in the Capital One Cup loss to neighbours Bradford City when he assisted Matt Smith's header.
The journeyman midfielder joined Leeds from Portsmouth in 2012 after the south coast side were plunged into financial chaos.
Norris also played for Bolton, Hull, Plymouth and Ipswich in a 15-year career.
