Leeds United are hoping they can bring Newcastle United's Nile Ranger to the club on a loan deal.

Simon Grayson fears striker Billy Paynter will miss the start of the Championship season with injury and needs to find an apt replacement for the short-term.

19-year old Ranger fits the bill and Grayson is holding hope that the Magpies can spare him as they prepare for their return to the top flight.
