Mystery Consortium To Bid?

The News of the World states that a consortium has been in touch with chairman Gerald Krasner wanting to buy him and his colleagues out, only less than four weeks after they took charge themselves.

Krasner refused to deny that a major move had been made but was quoted as saying: "All I will say is that there is nothing in writing and there have been no meetings yet."

The paper understands that the consortium are serious and are keen to make things happen as soon as possible, with a well-placed source saying: "These people are big-hitters and won't mess around. They'll move heaven and earth to make serious moves in the next week."
