The England international came through the club’s youth academy but left the club when they were relegated to the Championship in 2004.
Milner was speaking in a questions and answers session on the Leeds Trinity website, where he is the Chancellor of Leeds Children's University.
The player was asked if he would ever come back to Leeds in which he replied that it is hard to know what will happen in the future.
However, Milner went on to say he would love to at some point return to his boyhood team, and would consider moving if Leeds wanted him.
"It is hard to say because you never know what might happen in the future. I would love to at some point. If it happens, it is the right time and Leeds want me at some point, then I would obviously love to. There is nothing better than playing for your hometown club," said the former Leeds star on returning to his former club.
Milner is currently playing for Manchester City but there are doubts about his future with the Premier League side.
The player has yet to commit himself to the club, and he could move in the summer on a free transfer with the likes of Liverpool looking to snap him up.
