Millwall Bag Kandol Loan Deal

The 26-year-old striker is out of favour at Leeds and well down the pecking order of forwards at Elland Road, although he was United's second top scorer last season with 11 goals in 33 league appearances.

United struck an agreement with their League One rivals late last night following an approach by Millwall boss Kenny Jackett, and Kandol is expected to take up the offer ahead of the start of the 2008-09 season on Saturday.

The Congolese international's future has been the subject of rumour this summer after he missed the start of pre-season training with a virus and failed to feature in any of the Whites' seven senior friendlies.

Kandol started his career at Luton Town in 1998, but found himself playing non-league football at Thurrock just four years later, where he scored 61 times in 102 outings.

Kandol can also name Cambridge United, Bournemouth, Dagenham & Redbridge and Barnet among his former clubs.
