"I know comparisons are made between football and the way rugby is run regarding discipline between players and referees but I don't see it as a big problem," said McAllister.
"Having said that, I like the way we are starting to communicate with each other. That is a big move forward.
"Referees seem to be talking more to managers, players and especially captains. That can only be a good thing because we don't want to see players rushing towards referees.
"That kind of behaviour doesn't send out the right message, so it is good to see improved communication between all involved."
