Right-back Connolly, who sustained the injury in Saturday's win over Coventry, was withdrawn in the 83rd minute and could be an early doubt for next Saturday's league game at Bristol City.
Grayson said: "'Conns' could've come off a bit earlier. He tweaked his hamstring and we'll assess him over the next few days and see how he is."
