Kewell departure not certain

The Australian international has been granted permission by United to talk with clubs interested in his signature but an offer to remain at Elland Road is not out of the equation yet claims Kewell's agent, Bernie Mandic.

"The bottom line is that we have not ruled out extending his contract with Leeds," Mandic told BBC Sport.

"The door is open for a new deal to be done. He's not ruled out extending his contract and we have not rejected an extension of contract.

"The talks with John McKenzie have gone very well. It's a case of Harry making sure he looks at all his options before he makes a decision.

Leeds have not tried to restrict us in any way. The way things stand I think all issues will be resolved in the next few weeks.

"Harry is not a player who has chased money in the past and he is not a player who will chase money in the future," he added.

"The next phase of Harry's career is one that will be the best for him and make him the best possible player he can be.

"It will not be money driven otherwise he would have left for Old Trafford by now."
