So why shouldn't Smith get the best deal for himself ?
If Leeds fans should get angry with anyone, it should be with the board who were not willing to offer him a contract to stay or for not encouraging clubs abroad to make a big bid.
If you were offered a better job, with better money, better prospects, would you stay put ?
There's no such thing as loyalty amongst players in football. Gone are the days when pro's stayed with one club all their career.
