Boss Happy With Greek Draw

United were in Greece for a game to open Iraklis' rebuilt stadium and though conceding a goal inside 10 minutes, equalised through skipper Paul Butler's late 82nd minute header.

"We worked hard and the players gave a spirited response after going behind early on," he told the club website.

"The game was very competitive. It was definitely worth us being here."

United's best chance in the first half went to Matthew Spring just before the half hour. A great move should have created a goal when Craig Hignett swung in a cross, but Spring's header went just wide.

Julian Joachim, one of three substitutes brought into the game on the hour mark, came close with a header that flew just wide, five minutes after coming on for Hignett.

United: Sullivan, Richardson, Pugh, Spring, Duberry, Butler, Branco (Johnson 74), Wright, Hignett (Joachim 60), Ricketts (McMaster 60), Guppy (Cadamarteri 60).
