The 27-year-old Norway international has made only four appearances for the Whites since April 2004 because of a series of injuries.

His agent Rune Hauge told www.dagbladet.co: "Eirik is going to Villa. He will be loaned until January. Then we will see what happens. We are working on the final details now."
