Another Signing Expected

The latest target is rumoured to be a foreign defender with five years of Premiership experience after the player in question got an agreement to end his contract with his current club.

The termination has made him a free agent, allowing Leeds to step in and secure his signature despite the closure of the August transfer window last night.

United brought in two players before the deadline and Kevin Blackwell was confident of getting another target after a medical today. Keeper Stephane Andersen is back at Charlton after having his loan transfer cancelled.

Jonathon Douglas was the club's only permanent signing, joining on a three-year deal from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee, but keeper Tony Warner agreed a loan move from Fulham until the New Year.
