Why Wilson's move to Leeds fell through

Latest from Sky Sports News' Zinny Boswell:

Fulham pulled the plug on Harry Wilson's 'Deadline Day' move to Leeds at the very last minute, Sky Sports News understands.

Leeds and Wilson had signed a deal sheet in the hope of finalising a move.

However, it is understood Fulham did not to sign the paperwork required for the Premier League to grant an additional two hours to get the transfer over the line.

Fulham insist they were clear that Wilson was not for sale, while Leeds feel they were encouraged to increase their offer for the Wales international on 'Deadline Day'.

Leeds were first made aware of Wilson's potential availability over the weekend as Fulham pursued the signings of Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze.

Wilson was keen on the move as his opportunities were already limited at Fulham and both players will be directly competing with him for minutes, only decreasing his chances of playing.

Although there is frustration over missing out on Wilson, Leeds are understood to be very happy with their business this summer.

The priority for the window was strengthening the spine of Daniel Farke's team for the Premier League return - and they managed to do that with plenty of time to spare by bringing in the likes of Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol and Lucas Perri.

Leeds have backed Farke to the tune of more than £100m this summer with 10 new additions.
