Last summer, to prepare for the Premier League, Leeds signed mostly players in their peak years - 27-year-olds - who were tall and physically strong.
This summer Leeds focused on youth and experience.
In Bahoya, United have one of the most exciting young wingers in Europe, while Trafford is England's number one-in-waiting, and Muharemovic looks like he could become one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.
Harry Wilson and Nico Elvedi have brought experience to the group, along with Michael Zetterer the backup goalkeeper.
In terms of outgoings, Leeds offloaded many players who were not in Daniel Farke's plans.
Joël Piroe and Willy Gnonto were too good to be sitting on the bench, and I am sure they will do well for West Ham and Fiorentina.
This summer also saw the departure of Pascal Struijk for a decent sum.
Struijk was one of the few players acquired for the academy who went on to play significant minutes for the first team and was then sold for pure profit - a model that is increasingly important in modern football.
There were also very important new contracts handed out to some of Leeds' key players - none more-so than club captain Ethan Ampadu - still only 25 - a player who epitomises the club's ethos SIDE BEFORE SELF.
Rodon, Bogle and Aaronson have likewise all been crucial to this Leeds United squad under Daniel Farke and deserved their extensions.
This summer was vital for the future of Leeds United.
To build on the solid foundations of the squad by adding youth and experience was a smart strategy.
Leeds have added major upgrades in key areas, while the timing of the transfers was important.
With Trafford for example - by the time other clubs were scrambling for goalkeepers - Chelsea with Martinez, Villa with Suzuki - the ink had long since dried on his move to United.
And with Bahoya - Leeds have secured a significant deal at a cut price. Back in December, when Arsenal inquired about the young French winger, Frankfurt were asking for £60m.
With the new recruits, Leeds look like a solid midtable Premier League squad, maybe pushing for Europe, so it's difficult to see how this window could have been much better.
I think the one big miss may be a striker who can more closely replicate the impact Dominic Calvert-Lewin has in holding up the ball.
But as long as he stays fit - that won't be an issue.
