The 23-year-old, son of former Manchester United defender Steve Bruce, appears to be out of favour with Town manager Jim Magilton after having been a regular at Portman Road since becoming his first signing in the summer of 2006.
Bruce, who joined Town from Birmingham City on a free transfer, is contracted to the Blues until 2009.
