Reserves Reaching For The Top

Leeds reserves could move clear at the top of Pontin's Holiday League Division One Central tonight. Ther reserves have had back-to-back victories over Huddersfield Town (3-1) and Bradford City (1-0).

United are the only club with a 100% record in the division and reserves boss David Geddis is well pleased with his young squad, saying:"We've started well and there are a lot of good things for us to build on. There are also areas that require work and development and that's to be expected with young players.

"There weren't many first-team players involved against Bradford and the team will be pretty similar tonight. Winning breeds confidence and we've already beaten two decent sides.

"Bradford's team had more first-team experience than us and Huddersfield were a little stronger than we expected so two wins from two is a good start.

"We want to develop the young lads to the extent where they are ready to make the bench, not only for Carling Cup games but also for league games."
