Boro chairman Ian Scobbie said: "It is a great game for us, the first team (Leeds) are away in Scandinavia at the time, but they will still have a strong side on show.
"It will be nice to finally be able to focus on football again after the problems we had at the end of last season and that will give us the chance."
Admission to the opening match is £8 for adults, with a concessionary price of £5 for senior citizens and for juniors.
