Leeds used Neil Sullivan, Sean Gregan and Robbie Blake for the game that was held to assist Sunderland's injured players, with Steve Caldwell and Stephen Elliott both involved.

Caldwell, who played for the Whites in their relegation season, featured for about an hour.

New boss Dennis Wise and assistant Gus Poyet were at the game played at Thorp Arch as Leeds held their Sunderland counterparts to a goalless first half.

But Tobias Hysen broke the deadlock with the first goal seven minutes into the 2nd half, when he shot home after taking on a lay-off from former Leeds youngster Kevin Smith.

Substitute David Dowson scored the other two goals in the space of six minutes.

After coming on after 78 minutes the youngster scored a rebounded effort, after Stephen Elliott's first shot was spilled by Sullivan.

Dowson was on the spot again with a minute left for an exact copy of his first goal, as Elliott's shot was again parried away by Neil Sullivan, allowing Dowson to tuck away the rebound.
