YEP Player Ratings

Last updated : 15 August 2016 By Phil Hay

Rob Green Did what he could with Birmingham’s opener but had absolutely no chance with the second. The energy of the first half had evaporated by then. 6/10

Luke Ayling On a disappointing day, a promising debut from a right-back who will put Gaetano Berardi’s place under threat long-term. Up against the most dangerous player in Maghoma. 7/10

Kyle Bartley Won a lot of headers and made plenty of clearance but Leeds as ever are very prone to losing control when crosses drop into their box. 6/10

Sol Bamba Doesn’t look composed or secure and Monk is going to have to do something with his defence after seven concessions in three games. 5/10

Charlie Taylor Didn’t know whether to go with Maghoma or play him offside for the first goal and is clearly some way below his best. 5/10

Hadi Sacko Claimed United’s goal, with a bit of help from Kuszczak, and tried to run at City every chance he got. Hard to criticise him. 6/10

Ronaldo Vieira Good aspects and bad aspects. In short, it’s a huge ask to expect an 18-year-old to run the show in a midfield where Leeds are outnumbered. 5/10

Pablo Hernandez Over the 90 minutes, found his introduction to the Championship increasingly intense and increasingly tough. Lost the midfield battle. 5/10

Alex Mowatt The star of the show in the first half, picking passes beautifully and laying on the equaliser. But he faded dramatically after the break. 6/10

Marcus Antonsson The striker who carried the most threat and was unlucky to hit the bar early on. But service to him dried up eventually. 7/10

Chris Wood Didn’t look at all dangerous and his touch let him down too often. Jeered by the crowd when he was substituted, which won’t help his confidence. 4/10

Subs: Kemar Roofe (for Wood, 60) - Injected some life into a flagging performance but was largely alone in trying to force the pace. 6/10

Kalvin Phillips (for Mowatt, 73) - His running power helped to peg Birmingham back but Monk’s squad offered too few attacking options. 5/10

Stuart Dallas (for Hernandez, 85) - Didn’t have much opportunity to get on the ball and injury-time ticked away before he could make an impact. 5/10

Subs (not used): Ross Turnbull, Lewie Coyle, Liam Cooper, Matt Grimes.

Referee: Paul Tierney (Lancashire) - Certain things annoyed the crowd but as with QPR last weekend, the post-match debate did not involve him. 7/10

Attendance: 27,392
