YEP Player Ratings

Last updated : 04 April 2016 By Phil Hay

Marco Silvestri: Warnock had clearly told Rotherham to crowd him in the box at every opportunity but no-one could have planned for the chaos that led to his red card. 5/10

Gaetano Berardi; What is it about Rotherham? Came away with more blood spilt and as is often the case with Berardi, didn’t have the worst of games. 6/10

Giuseppe Bellusci: A nightmare. He and Bamba were nowhere for the first goal and his attempt to clear with an overhead kick before the penalty was a bad error. 3/10

Sol Bamba; It was surprising to say the least that Cooper did not come back into the team. Bamba was solid in the main but not when it mattered. 4/10

Charlie Taylor: Unlucky to take a ball to the midriff before the opener and couldn’t recover to stop Frecklington scoring but isn’t in top form. 5/10

Toumani Diagouraga: Leeds had masses of possession but were unable to do anywhere near enough with it. Diagouraga didn’t shine. 5/10

Liam Bridcutt: Tried his best to get at Rotherham’s midfield and did his fair share of ball-winning but that area of the pitch was laboured. 5/10

Lewis Cook: Seemed to be having as good a game as any other Leeds player so his substitution was a strange one. The away end didn’t like it. 6/10

Alex Mowatt: Needs to draw a big line under this season. It never started for him - not properly - and it doesn’t look like coming to life before May 7. 4/10

Mirco Antenucci: Denied by a terrific save from Camp at 1-0 and when he got himself into the game, his influence made a difference. 6/10

Chris Wood: Hasn’t started in a long time and didn’t look anywhere near sharp. Antenucci was more of a handful. 5/10

Substitutes:

Mustapha Carayol (for Mowatt, 58) - Injected a bit of urgency into the side with some good work down the left. 6/10

Stuart Dallas (for Cook, 58) - Leeds carried a much bigger threat with two proper wingers on the pitch, albeit against 10 men. 5/10

Luke Murphy (for Berardi, 74) - It took a large deflection for Leeds to find the net but credit to Murphy. He came on and made a difference, before the late drama. 6/10

Subs (not used): Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Lewie Coyle, Liam Cooper, Tom Adeyemi.

Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire) - In fairness to him, he got the big decisions spot on. 7/10

Attendance: 11,418

Rotherham United: Lee Camp – 7, Stephen Kelly – 6, Kirk Broadfoot – 8, Lloyd Doyley – 7, Sam Mattock – 6, Greg Halford – 7, Grant Ward – 7, Richie Smallwood – 5, Lee Frecklington – 7, Matt Derbyshire – 4, Leon Best - 6

Substitutes: Danny Ward (for Best, 64) – 6, Joe Newell (for Smallwood, 80) – 5, Frazer Richardson (for Grant Ward, 90) - 5
