Wright Moves On From Leeds

The 30-year-old joined the club on a free transfer from Ipswich in the summer of 2004 and made over 30 League appearances for the Whites.

But this season he played only three times before joining Millwall and then Southampton on loan.

Wright told www.stellargroup.co.uk that the decision reached was in the best of interests of both parties: "I spoke to the manager last week and we had a chat about my situation. We both agreed that the best thing for me to do was to look for another club, particularly one that allows me to settle back in the south.

"Leeds are a terrific club and one that I have really enjoyed being a part of. The setup is first class and I am sure that they will soon be back in the Premiership where they belong. Certainly the fans deserve that.

"But for whatever reason, I just found it hard to settle in the area and I will now have to sit down with my agent and try and get myself sorted out with some pre-season training so I can find another club."
