The 23-year-old Warrington born defender has been watched by Leeds for sometime and he may become available for a fee in the region of £500k in the new year.
The Whites had him down at Elland Road earlier this season but nothing further happened and he went back to Crewe.
Leeds need cover for Gary Kelly now that Danny Mills is on a season long loan at Middlesbrough.
