Last updated : 30 October 2005 By Kevin Markey
Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe was honoured on the 2nd May 2005 for his 10 years of service to Leeds United in a wonderful testimonial match in front of a packed Elland Road. 38,000 fans crammed into the stadium on a beautiful summer’s day to salute and show their love for a modern day hero…“The Chief”.

This DVD features the full testimonial match between the Leeds United All- Stars Team and an International World XI which included legends such as Gary McAllister, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Tony Yeboah and Nigel Martyn. The Chief himself talks exclusively about his extraordinary life in a documentary that includes interviews with former Leeds greats Vinnie Jones, David Wetherall, Gordon Strachan, Howard Wilkinson and many more.

The Lucas Radebe story is an incredible journey from growing up as one of 11 children in Soweto, South Africa under apartheid, to becoming one of the Premier League's most respected players - and South Africa's most-capped footballer, with 70 appearances for Bafana Bafana. This programme follows Radebe’s rise to prominence from winning the African Nations Cup on home soil to being appointed captain of Leeds United and taking charge of a team filled with promising youngsters and leading them to the brink of domestic and European glory.

The Chief is one of the most revered figures in world football, not just for what he does on the pitch but also for the work he does off it. In the age of multi million pound deals and play boy lifestyles, Radebe has managed to keep his feet firmly on the ground and dedicated a large portion of his life to charitable work helping others realise their dreams. This is the official story of a living legend…
