Will Be Harder Next Season - Warnock

Warnock tipped Watford ahead of their Championship play-off final win but is disappointed he will not be facing former head coach Kevin Blackwell next season.

"I know many of our own fans will probably be quite happy because Leeds are our great rivals at the moment," Warnock said. "But, no disrespect to Watford, I would have preferred two cracking Yorkshire derbies in the Premiership with the teams just 30 minutes apart.

"Leeds must be hugely disappointed and for Kevin to have suffered the same heartache again like he did with us at Cardiff in 2003 must be heartbreaking.

"Back then we just didn't turn up and the same thing happened to Leeds at the weekend, you just can't put your finger on why.

"They must regroup now for next season, but it certainly won't be easy. With West Brom, Birmingham and Sunderland who are already geared up for the Premiership coming down, and others already in the Championship fancying their chances, it will be a very difficult league for anyone to climb out of," Warnock said on Sheffield United's official club website.
