The 25-year-old former Ipswich midfielder, who started his career as a trainee at Portman Road, will be available to play in tomorrow's game against MK Dons.

Westlake will be at Cheltenham until December, although he will not be eligible for the Robins' home match with Leeds on November 1.

He joins Town after a reserves outing against Swindon on October 14.

The left-footed midfielder becomes Martin Allen's 10th signing since he became Robins boss on September 15.

Westlake made more than 100 appearances for Ipswich, scoring 17 goals and winning their young player of the year award in 2004.

He moved to Leeds in 2006, making 32 appearances in two seasons. He was on loan at Brighton last season, scoring two goals.
