We Played Watford's Game - Lewis

United's decision to start the match with just one striker, as they did at Preston, back-fired as Watford dominated a large proportion of the game.

Lewis says that instead of trying to retain possession, Leeds had fallen into the trap of trying to beat Watford at their own, up-and-at-them game.

Lewis confessed: "We ended up playing Watford's game, we played far too direct a style. We didn't push onto them well, we let a lot of loose balls go and their midfielders picked up quite a bit. It's too soon to reflect right now.

"Automatic promotion is now the plan. If I make it back again, I'll give it another go, and hopefully end up on the right side."
