We Need 105 Points To Win The League - Wise

But unless the other 71 Football League clubs support Leeds' appeal against a 15-point penalty at a meeting on Thursday, the Whites could be facing another relegation.

The clubs could even demand the penalty is increased after Leeds failed to comply with insolvency regulations, but Wise hopes he has heard the last of the bad news.

"I've never experienced anything like the past eight months and it has not been nice,' he said. "The 15-point penalty is a real blow and I've just told the players we need 105 points to win the league. It is going to be a massive challenge."

Leeds were given the go-ahead on Friday to start the season at Tranmere next Saturday, but that did not prevent a tirade against club owner Ken Bates from fans during the 2-1 home defeat against Wigan.

The former Chelsea chief missed the game as supporters hung anti-Bates slogans on the statue of Elland Road legend Billy Bremner and chanted for him to go.
