Warnock Has A Rant

Sheffield United boss Warnock appears to be bitter after missing out on Richard Cresswell.

Kevin Blackwell, a former assistant of Warnock's at Bramall Lane, said: “I’d like to thank Neil Warnock for bringing this one to my attention. I did not think I had a chance of getting Richard because I felt he was going to Sheffield United.”

Warnock claims, however, that Blackwell is trying to buy a place back in the Premiership.

He said: “Leeds have given Cresswell a much higher basic salary than we offered, so it is not a surprise.

“Ken Bates has done a wonderful job for Leeds. They have now spent the best part of £4m on strikers and I’d expect nothing short of automatic promotion will be Leeds’ objective now.

“But spending money is no guarantee of success. I’m trying to be successful without spending vast amounts.”
