Viduka Off Threat

The report suggests that Viduka has held talks with manager Peter Reid and has made it clear he does not see his long-term future at Leeds.

It is understood that he wants to join the long list of players who have left United, but has not handed in a written transfer request.

Reid: Warning for~unhappy players
Not very cheery Reid

Leeds manager Peter Reid said: "I have had a talk with Mark Viduka about his career, but nothing official has come out of these talks."

Viduka has been linked with Roma, Barcelona and Lyon, but Leeds chairman Professor John McKenzie has insisted he was not for sale.

Now it appears Viduka is determined to leave as Leeds face the prospect of another high-profile departure.

In the past few months the striker's name has been touted around Europe by agent Andrea D'Amico without the permission of Leeds United, and it is talk of a move to a number of European clubs that is believed to have also unsettled the Whites star.

The Whites, however, are sure to want Viduka to hand in a written transfer request before making a decision on his future.

Boss Reid has made it clear he does not want to keep unhappy players, but the loss of Viduka would be a savage blow.
