The Daily Mirror report that the £4m move had been slow in progressing because Viduka, who is also interesting Bayern Munich and Marseille, was reluctant to accept a cut in his £65k-a-week wages at Leeds.
But both sides are now confident a deal can be reached in the next week or so.
