Leeds are reportedly set to sign young Manchester United defender Scott Wootton.

The 21-year-old, who spent a short spell on loan at Peterborough United last term, is down the pecking order at Old Trafford and is being tipped to make a move to Elland Road this week.

While it was thought initially that the Birkenhead-born player would be moving on a month-to-month contract basis, talks have reportedly moved the process to a permanent deal with both clubs.

David Moyes is believed to favour young Michael Keane over Wootton as a defender at the club, having taken Keane out on pre-season tour with the first team.
