Two-Way Chase For Want-To-Stay Bakke

Last updated : 30 August 2006 By Kevin Markey
Bakke is now in his native Norway after being told by United they can no longer afford his reported £23k-a-week wages.

Norwegian league leaders Brann want the midfielder on a free if he agrees to a salary cut but Danes Brondby say they can trump any contract offer.

But Bakke says in the YEP today: "I'm flying back to England tomorrow and I'll train with the other players on Friday. I'm still a Leeds player so I'm entitled to train with the club, and I'll carry on as normal. I haven't received anything concrete from any other clubs. There is a lot of interest in my situation at home, but I don't want to move back to Norway just now."
