Town Routed In Derby

In front of an Elland Road crowd of 32,501 - the biggest at a third-tier English football match for 25 years - Leeds scored once in the first half and three times more in the second to record an emphatic 4-0 victory.

The Whites took the lead in the 24th minute, perhaps against the run of play when skipper Jonathon Douglas scored with a long-range effort.

Until then Town had more than matched a Leeds side who are now just one point away from second-placed Nottingham Forest despite a 15-point point penalty imposed at the start of the season.

But Leeds turned on the style in the second half and scored three goals without reply through Jermaine Beckford (twice) and late substitute Tore Andre Flo.

Beckford scored his first on 49 minutes and then turned home a rebound with 21 minutes to go. Flo then completed the rout with a tap-in with three minutes of normal time left.
