The Soul Of Leeds In 50 Moments (No 27)

For all his faults, Don Revie cared about his players and their families like few managers before or since. Flowers on their birthdays (the wives) and team bonding bowls sessions (players) were the order of the day. Chelsea might have had Raquel Welch sauntering down the touchline and shouting 'yoo-hoo, Ossie', but we had Paul Madeley shouting 'eyes down'. As sophisticated as grouting, Leeds were earthy and real. The sort of club that would think a prima donna to be a top-notch kebab.
