THE ‘LOST' GENERATION

The cheapest seats (in the family stand area) for under 16s are priced at £216 for a season ticket (equivalent to £9.40 per game should you manage to get to each of the 23 games) or £10 per match if you are a junior member which in itself costs a further £15 per annum.

With crowds now dipping below the 20,000 mark towards the levels last seen in the dark days of the mid 1980's and yet prices, particularly for children, now higher than many Premiership clubs, the directors of Leeds United Supporters Trust (LUST) are concerned that there is a grave danger of a whole generation of supporters being lost to the club.

Following various requests from members and the wider fan body LUST has decided to commence an ‘Initiative' to examine what parents who wish to take their children to matches at Elland Road would consider a ‘fair and reasonable' amount to pay for either a child's Season or Match Day Ticket to support a team in the second tier of English football.

Parents are being asked to fill in a simple questionnaire regarding ticket prices on the LUST website www.lufctrust.org the results of which will be analysed to help develop a report that will be then published as well as being forwarded to the club for their consideration.

It is hoped to have conclusions available in a timely manner prior to the establishment of the club's ticketing strategy for the 2007-2008 season.
