The Chief Vows To Return

Last updated : 17 August 2004 By Kevin Markey

The Chief was stretchered off in the first half of the goalless draw at Molineux last weekend and he is set to go under the knife this evening, but the United legend sees the lay-off as an ideal time to continue his coaching education along with spending time with his family.

"I have seen various specialists and doctors since the injury. Once the doctors have operated they will know the full extent of my injury," said Radebe to kickoff.com.

"I am pretty confident, despite what many have said, that I will be back before the end of the season.

"Although this injury has come at a very inopportune time in my career I am a firm believer that everything in life happens for a reason.

"I know that the long lay-off of approximately six months will enable me to continue with my coaching education and spend time with my family.

"I have bounced back from more serious injuries before and I am pretty confident I will be able to do the same again as I would hate my career to end in this unfortunate way."
