Tel's injury worries ahead of UEFA tie

The Leed's boss may be forced into fielding a patched-up side with Alan Smith battling to overcome an ankle problem, Swedish international Lucic is cup tied, Dominic Matteo is still out injured, Jonathan Woodgate is a major doubt with a groin injury and Olivier Dacourt was also forced to miss last weekend's game with a groin problem.

"We're down to a thin line now with the UEFA Cup," said Venables.

"We've got through one round and it's a tough game coming up.

"As much as we want to do well, if we have any more injuries I'll have to have a think because we've got another Premiership match to come a couple of days later.

"That is the balance that I'm trying to find and it's not always easy."
