The tough Scot has not trained all week after injuring an ankle in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle but Reid is keen to give him as much time as needed to prove his fitness.

Lamine Sakho has recovered from a thigh strain while Jermaine Pennant was training for the first time with the Leeds side after picking up a dead-leg for England U-21's.

Jason Wilcox's place on the right wing would appear to be the most under threat, whilst Reid will also assess Lucas Radebe to see if his knee problem flairs up again.

Didier Domi would step into the breach should there be any problem. Ian Harte did his chances of a recall no harm, as he impressed when coming on as a sub for Ireland.

Tottenham had a miserable first game, losing at Birmingham, courtesy of a David Dunn penalty. Spurs have various injury problems, and Leeds old boy Robbie Keane added to their woes, as he was stretchered off during Ireland's win over Australia.

The game also saw Stephen Carr limp out with a hamstring strain, and he is another who will be struggling to be fit for the weekend.

However, Bobby Zamora should be fit after pulling out of the England U-21 game with a slight niggle received against Birmingham.
