Stubbs Steps Up Plans

Stubbs' consortium has been in talks with the Elland Road club for several weeks and hopes to conclude a deal worth £10m.

A spokesman for Leeds told the Yorkshire Post: "There is a large payment due to one of the club's creditors on 15 December. It would, of course, be nice to have some investment in by then. But if we haven't received any investment, meaning the payment will not be a life-or-death situation for the club."

Meanwhile, Sebastian Sainsbury, whose consortium failed in a take over attempt earlier this month, is aiming to put together a second financial package to buy the club and hopes to make a bid early next week.
