Brian Montenegro, another late signing, has been given the number 26.
Noel Hunt retains the number 10 shirt and, given that he has not scored a goal for the club, this is set to be frustrating for United fans.
There were also squad numbers handed out to youth-team prospects Lewis Cook (23), Chris Dawson (24), Ross Killock (25) and Alex Cairns (30), amongst others, whilst no player was given the number 17 shirt due to owner, Massimo Cellino's, hatred of it.
