So Cruel On Harry

Harry has just suffered a devastating blow to his hopes of a flying start at Liverpool when he picked up an ankle injury in last Saturday's draw at Crewe.

The £5m (or was it £3m?) signing is now uncertain to be fully match fit for the start of the season.

Kewell had a scan on Sunday which showed that he has strained the lateral ligaments in his ankle, and Anfield boss Gerard Houllier immediately pulled him out of today's trip to the Far East.

The Aussie star has been ruled out of action for a minimum of 10 days.

Kewell has already looked some way behind the rest of the Liverpool squad in terms of fitness. And while he should be back for the start of the Premiership, he will have had little time to forge an understanding with his new team-mates.

His new manager Gerard Houllier, said: "There is no point taking him on the tour of the Far East as he is better off staying behind to do some work on his fitness. But we are hopeful that maybe he could be back for the Amsterdam tournament - perhaps for the second game anyway.

"He won't have many games under his belt, but he will be able to work on his fitness."

Naturally, we at Leeds United MAD wish him a speedy recovery, and refute any claims that his agent dropped his wallet on his ankle before the game!
