The 22-year-old was incensed to hear that he was supposedly in 'secret talks' with former boss David O'Leary's club Aston Villa.
Smith, who has only been thinking about Sunday's game with Newcastle this week, was disappointed to see his name being used to sell newspapers.
"I can assure Leeds United fans that I know nothing at all about this story," Smithy told Leedsunited.com. "As far as I am concerned it is complete rubbish. I can only repeat what I said recently, that I am a Leeds United player and proud to be so. I was born in Leeds and I have no intention of leaving the club. This is where I want to play my football. I am happy here and the only thing on my mind at the moment is doing well for the club and right now that means concentrating on our game against Newcastle United."
