Smith is set to play a Leeds supporter in a cameo part in a black-comedy called 'The Penalty King'.
Smith will be alongside Claire Grogan, the Scottish actress and former Altered Images pop-star (an 80's pop band for all you youths!) The Sun describes 'The Penalty King' as a story about a blind-man who is inspired, having been visited by the ghost of former Leeds legend Billy Bremner. Smith is apparently relishing the prospect of following in the footsteps of another Leeds favourite, Vinnie Jones, and showing off his talents on the big-screen. Smith was quoted as saying: "Although I'm paid to play football, and that will always come first, to play a Leeds United fan would hardly be acting for me." The film-makers are also keen to sign up Dennis Wise. Filming is scheduled to start next-year. |
