The 32-year-old skipper passed out after accidentally being hit in the throat by goalkeeper Neil Sullivan.
Butler was released from hospital yesterday, although Leeds will continue to monitor his progress.
He will not be considered for a return to action until a consultant neurosurgeon has passed him fit.
